Have You Ever Moved House Like This?

This is another one of my Digital Art pieces called ‘Have You Ever Moved House Like This?’ It’s one of those things where my imagination got the better of me. We were moving house and to be honest, I couldn’t wait to go. People kept asking me if I was feeling stressed, but I wasn’t. I just wanted to move on.

Moving House Brick By Brick

It got me thinking what are the stresses and strains of moving house? That’s how I came up with the image. If we had to move house, literally taking the building brick by brick, then that would be stressful. I’ve heard that some people actually do that though! Strap the thing to the back of a low loader lorry and away they go.

Now That Would Be Stressful..

Imagine if you had nothing but a small boat, a dog and a man friend to help. The first obstacle you faced is crossing the open seas. Now that would be stressful. Rowing your little boat with your dog on board and you friend steadying the house as you go. Waves crashing all around you. A Sealion pops his head out to see what’s happening. The house lights are on and the fire’s lit as there’s smoke coming from the chimney. Sorry, I’m getting carried away again.

Optimism

I’m sure the folks in my image made it ok. He who dares wins and all of that. I always try to have a happy outcome or at the very least some optimism in these pictures. Hope you enjoy this little piece of digital art, I have quite a few that I will post as time goes on. Meanwhile, if you’re thinking of moving, go for it and enjoy the experience. Hopefully, it won’t be anything as stressful as this picture.

I'd love to hear from you

Moved 2 years ago and glad it was only furniture.

Not exactly a house, but had a friend who had a double static caravan with another single one attached. When the site was sold, the new owners told him he had to get rid or pay for 3 plots. He decided to move 500 yards down the road to another site. Took about 3 days.

Thanks Tony. That must have been an enormous task?

I think this is a really great realization of your initial concept. It is an optimistic work — and one that could have been one of those classic paintings in the 1950s that people got replicas of and displayed in their den. I like this a lot!

Haha, Hope, I don’t think I would want to move house like that, too messy.
