Scotland Has The Loch Ness Monster
Scotland has its Lochness Monster, Asia has the Yeti and now Wales has Blue Sheep! I had to pull over today to take the photograph of them as no one would believe me. Can you imagine arriving home and the converstaion goes something like:
“Hello sweetheart, have you had a good day?”
“You’ll never guess, I’ve just seen blue sheep.”
“Blue sheep? But there’s no such thing as blue sheep.”
“Well, I’ve seen them.”
“Hmmmm, would you like a cup of tea, Dear?”
See, I’d be fobbed off with a cup of tea and something like ‘Oh, he’s been at the Codeine again.’ However, I have the picture, the proof, blue sheep really do exist. Like so many roads in this part of the world, they seem to be filled with more sheep than cars. In truth, that’s not such a bad thing.
Sheep, everywhere, sometimes accompanied by cows
Sheep And More Sheep
So it was, driving home today following the same route I’ve used many times now, the one twisty, turny road runs through two open fields. I say open fields, but in reality they stretch for as far as the eye can see. The sheep roam the area in vast droves, sometimes accompanied by cows. They all bare a dye mark, indicating who their owners are.
Munching Away At The Grass
Some are just colourful squiggles in green while others are a little more sophisticated in their design. The sheep don’t care. They just go about their daily lives, which seems to be no more than munching away at the grass.
There They Are
Then, in the distance I could see two sheep that looked almost neon! They were to far away to have a good nose at so I pulled over. They were blue, not white, not sprayed with a letter G in red on their back, they were blue from head to toe! I only had my phone with me, so I couldn’t get as zoomed in as much as I would have liked. Still, you can quite clearly see the sheep are blue.
Aliens?
I have no idea why they would be blue. It wasn’t cold and anyway, they’re wrapped up well in wool. Perhaps it’s part of an experiment to grow wool for knitting that is already dyed. Maybe they’re aliens? Blue sheep from Mars. I wonder if anyone else saw them?
