Cover Make Over – Chris de Burgh – Home

By Posted on 5 Comments 1 min read

This weeks Cover Make Over Challenge is the cover for Chris de Burgh’s album, ‘Home’. The original was a boring affair, with just the singer/songwriter sitting on a bench with his guitar and not much else in the scene. To be honest, when you think about it, there’s no easy answer to this challenge. Home must mean so many different things to each of us.

I took the approach that where would I feel the loneliest place for me would be? After a while, the answer came back to me that being in space must be a very lonely place to be, and yet it is probably the one place where you can see home from, no matter where in the world you live.

I decided on using planet earth as a background and found a guitar playing astronaut in a downloaded wallpaper I had. After a bit of cut and paste, and the addition of some text and filters I arrived at my final piece. I think that it’s an improvement on the original, although that isn’t a difficult thing to do.

If you would like to have a go at the challenge, you can find more information here.

I'd love to hear from you
