I love taking part in these cover makeover challenges. They’re great fun and keeps me active with the likes of Photoshop. This weeks challenge is Storm Boy by Colin Thiele. It’s an Australian story about a young boy and a Pelican. Considered a classic, it’s a little outdated now, originally written back in 1964.
The book concentrates on the relationships between the boy, his father, the pelican and an Aboriginal man by the name of Fingerbone.

February 25, 2016Thank you, Julie. Yes they were from a storm gathering a few years ago in Wales. I have done some work to enhance them though. Thank you.

February 26, 2016This looks fun. How do you go about producing your version?

February 26, 2016I use Photoshop, Dave. I go through what photos I have in my archive. For this, I used a beach scene and the bird from photos with a licence off the net. The clouds and the young boy were my own photos which I then built up layer by layer in Photoshop adding some filters for effect and lastly text. It’s great fun, I really enjoy it.
