In response to todays DailyPost prompt, Gathering, I always think of the House of Commons. I’m not a political animal by any means, but the word gathering sends shivers down my spine as in a ‘gathering of bullies’ waiting to carry out their plans on some poor unsuspecting soul. Which is what the house of commons is really and the citizens of the UK are the poor unsuspecting soul!
We all know governments lie, yet we are surprised when whichever party comes to power they immediately do the opposite of that which they were voted by the majority of the electorate to do. Or in the case of the present government, 37% of the electorate! How does that work? It means 63% of the population allowed to vote never voted for them? More lies?
They gather in the houses of parliament, sometimes in small numbers and sometimes, when they think there is something important to discuss, they gather in large numbers. Lots of ‘Here here’, or ‘Would the honourable gentleman…….’ blah blah blah, and so on. The biggest liars on planet earth.
We won’t bring back fox hunting!!! First gathering they have, ‘Well we should look again at the fox hunting thing and perhaps relax some of the laws…..blah blah blah’. Don’t worry about Fracking, there’ll be none of that nonsense, let’s have another gathering and hey ho ‘Ok, we’ll allow Fracking because we have so much money tied up in the fracking companies we could lose money, blah blah blah’.
A bunch of public school hooray henry’s being allowed to take the helm of one of the most prosperous countries in the western world, thinking only of themselves, elected by only 37% of the population, blah blah blah!!
I hope I haven’t gone to serious on this post, I do try and keep things humorous, but this lot, or this gathering of government are probably the worst bunch of gatherers I have known in my whole adult life. Bring on the next election.
