I’ve had a mental block regarding blogging just lately. It’s nothing unusual, it happens lots of times to lots of bloggers. So, I’ve had a look around at the usual what to do when you can’t think what to do websites, looking for motivation. In the end, I’ve sat down and decided to write. What about, I haven’t a clue, but we’ll see what happens.
What On Earth Can I Say?
Soโฆ I have nothing to say, but here I am saying something. Sounds a little like some politicians I could name, come to think of it, it sounds like all politicians. Anyway, that’s enough about them on here, I’ve had a bellyful of them this past couple of years. Life’s good at the moment for me as I hope it is with yourselves. This time of year, I’m talking weather-wise, is not my favourite. Darkness seems to descend too early and leaves far too late. Give me the warm summer sunshine any day.
Gone Quizzing
We went to our local pub the other night. It was one of those rare occasions for me, but they had a quiz and I do enjoy a quiz. We teamed up with a couple of guys and had a go. We came third out of four teams, but there was a second quiz about music and we won!! Our prize was a bar of chocolate and a big bag of crisps. Great fun and I was pleased to have come up with the correct answer of Johnny Ray, ‘Just Walking In The Rain’ in 1956.
A Great Community
There’s a great community spirit where we’re living now. It’s taken some getting used to after living in the concrete jungle for so long. You could barely look at anyone without them shouting back, ‘What ya lookin’ at?’ at the old place. There was a Christmas lunch last week in the community hall, it really is nice to see everyone coming together and enjoying each others company and of course, the meal was delicious. This coming weekend it’s Carol singing around the Christmas tree in the village square. Everyone joins in and there’s usually someone playing the trumpet or trombone all washed down with mulled wine and a mince pie.
Happy Christmas
There you have it. I had nothing to say and most of what I said amounted to nothing really. I’ll leave it at that. I just want to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and may 2019 be healthy and wealthy for you all. Thank you to everyone for your continued support during this year.

December 12, 2018I was only thinking yesterday that either you’d been quiet or I’d been unfollowed by wordpress. Anyway it’s good to hear you’re settled into your new community and that it does welcoming things like lunches and quizzes.

December 12, 2018Thank you, Tish. Yes, I’d been too quiet and was missing blogging, but couldn’t think of anything to say. Hence, my sit down and just write post. Happy Christmas.

December 12, 2018Love your thoughts. Makes me realise Ivegot a lot learn about blogging. I am the same get some periods where nothing seems to pop into my head. But our brilliant son helped me. He said just write the first sentence about the thought you have had the most that day and then off you go – thatโs what he does with his dreams. Plus he said that my punishment if I donโt write something every week is that I will need to do start a Pokemon blog.

December 12, 2018Thank you for your kind words. Your son is right and those are excellent words he uses. And avoid the Pokemon blog, thatโs as much motivation that you should need. Merry Christmas

December 12, 2018Given my extensive Pokemon knowledge I might as well set up an embroidery site.

December 12, 2018Good day sir! I’m happy to see you here and wish only the best for you and yours this season. I afpgree about the weather. Here it’s the same but probably drier and certainly windy! The events you describe remind me of past years and now I’m in the cement jungle. My son visiting last week remarked how brown it is here with no relief. Of course I agree. Give me a plant, a tree, some grass, please!
Scratch all that, have a nice holiday!โบ๏ธ๐ค๐

December 12, 2018Thank you, Rugby. I hope it’s not too bad a jungle where you are? It’s just that I ended in an area that seemed to contain 99% of the worlds nastiest people. Merry Christmas.

Invisibly Me
December 15, 2018I get the whole mental-block thing, I find it so frustrating (and far too regular an occurrence). Iโm glad youโre otherwise well, and itโs great you made it to that quiz – congrats on winning the music quiz! Did you make it to the village square for the Carol singing? Itโs lovely you have that community spirit there, I feel a lot of that is sadly missing where I live. Still, itโs just a โsign of the timesโ I guess. Will you be back and posting again before Christmas? It feels to early to wish you a good one, but maybe thatโs just me putting off the inevitable that itโs still happening this year, that Christmas hasnโt been cancelled (unlike the Brexit vote – gaaah itโs all damn politics lately!) xx

December 15, 2018Hi Caz, thank you for the kind words. The Carol singing is tomorrow night, Sunday 16th December and I’ll be there. I am so lucky that there is a great community spirit here, It’s so nice. Hopefully, I’ll have another post before Christmas and many thanks for your Christmas wishes. As for Brexit, It’s driving me nutz or more like the politicians are driving me nutz. Once again, thank you for your kind words, always great to hear from you. ๐
