Todays Daily Prompt is Seriousness! In all seriousness I try never to be serious although there are times when I have to be. Funerals, wedding ceremonies, in the church at least, otherwise I try to avoid the word.
My last post was edging towards seriousness and I didn’t like it at all. Life is far too serious, too many rules, you can’t do this or you can’t do that, you musn’t say this and you musn’t say that! Good grief, chill out. I think everyone should do what they want to do everyday, the one and only golden rule being that you don’t harm or hurt any other living thing.
Rules are for when you run out of brains
Rules are another part of seriousness, usually made by stuffy types that themselves want to rule. Always remember, rules are for when you run out of brains, which isn’t very often hopefully.
We are bombarded daily by the media trying to bamboozle us all into wanting things we can’t afford or how we should look and that perhaps we’re not as good as the folks on the hill if we don’t own a BMW. Seriously? It’s all too serious for me.
For me, everyday is a blessing to enjoy how I want, painting, drawing, playing guitar or blogging! I think the word seriousness should be banned from the dictionary. Life’s way to short and we can keep smiling even if the situation is regarded as serious, just a smile and a hug. If we all hugged and smiled at each other there would be very little time for seriousness.
Thank you for reading this far, now go and hug the next person and smile at the next stranger you meet. Trust me, the world will be a better place.
