This is my entry for todays Daily Post photo challenge, Trio. They say things always happen in threes. Births, weddings and deaths oh and buses! I’m not so sure how it is these days using public transport. I’ve used the tube in London and New York’s subway, and to be honest, I have never had any problems with them. However, buses are a different kettle of fish.
I haven’t used a bus to get me around for more than twenty years. I’m sure they’ve changed since they were my main transport of getting from a to b. When I first started work, I recall in the winter, there was a railway bridge close to where I worked. The bus stop use to be slap bang in the middle, and the wind always seemed to blow direct from the Arctic Circle, even in the middle of summer. I, with the thousands of others that seemed to be waiting at this bus stop for the number 8 in the middle of winter, used to stand like those penguins you see on David Attenborough’s TV show, ‘The Frozen Planet’.
Sometimes you could stand for more than an hour, especially if it was snowing, and then like a great mirage, 3 buses would show up. I’m so glad that for me, those days are a long ago history.
