Miss Universe What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

By Posted on 2 Comments 1 min read

Well, what a complete fiasco that was! Miss Universe what could possibly go wrong? You always think that if there are any problems it is likely to be one of the contestants fainting or perhaps some wardrobe malfunction. Not a huge mighty cock up of epic proportions like announcing the wrong winner! It was like watching Ricky Gervais performing his David Brent character from the Office.

As an event, it probably didn’t attract too many viewers across the globe, but as soon as word got out what had happened, I bet 99.9% of the earth’s population tuned in. Steve Harvey reminded me of Richard Pryor when he was sentenced to 125 years in prison in the film, Stir Crazy! Lots of ‘Whoa’, ‘What the…’ and ‘Yikes!’

And on that note, I wish Miss Phillipines all the best, or was it Miss Colombia…… oh no, see how easy it is to get it all wrong. I’ll just leave it there and hope Steve Harvey’s career doesn’t disappear down the tubes.

I'd love to hear from you

Thank you for creating this post about Ms. Universe 2015. I’m so happy for Ms. Philippines. She came too close to represent the Philippines in a major international beauty pageant when she finished 1st runner up in Bb. Pilipinas in 2013, and ended up just in the top 15 the following year. Though representatives of Philippines in Ms. Universe in the past 5 years made it to the Top 5, they did not get the title. Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach did not lose heart to try some more until she became Bb. Pilipinas Universe in 2015, and brought home the Miss Universe crown. She knew her passion. This may be the perfect time for her. She said her crowning was not traditional. But as Steve Harvey said, “It was still a good night.”

I’m pleased she had a happy ending to the day. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen to anyone ever again.
