World Book Day

By Posted on 2 Comments 2 min read

Thursday 3rd, March, 2016 was officially World Book Day. The idea behind it is to read something during the day, preferably a book if you can. I love reading, so I it’s a normal day for me, although I like writing too. I will usually read anything, but I have to say that I have a predilection for biographies, particularly rock stars.

Anyway, I diverse, and I have been to a book fair today to help celebrate this day of scriptures. To be honest, I didn’t really see many books that I would normally read, or there were some that I’ve already read. So, I came home with a mixture of get rich and get the life you want books. I’ll go through them and maybe find something of use, but, this is the beauty of books, I can pass them on through my local charity shop.

As well as this blog, I have set up a youtube page or should that be channel? I don’t know, but I thought I’d have a go as the youngsters seem to have the monopoly on there. It also keeps my brain well oiled with the daily ritual of uploading short video clips that compliment this blog. It also makes good use of the camera I treated myself to before Christmas. I’m loving all this ‘keeping busy’ stuff. It’s great fun, very creative and certainly keeps me out of trouble or sitting in the corner for days on end.

I even had a Kindle for Christmas, except it does a little more than just allow you to read a downloaded book from Amazon. My daughter and son in law bought it for me. For me, it’ll never replace the splendour of a brand new book and the smell that’s associated with it, but it does come in handy for those difficult to get out of print titles that are only available as downloads. Plus I collect a lot of first issues which are autographed by the author, you just can’t get that on your Kindle.

If you’d like to have a look at my youtube channel, please feel free and if you have one, let me know and I’ll visit yours. You can see mine by clicking here! Thank you.

I'd love to hear from you
